Manage Flair priorities in one place

We've brought back a way to manage priorities across your Flair badges and banners in one place. Set priorities lists all your published and scheduled promotions so you can reorder them together.

On the Badges or Banners page, choose More actions > Set priorities. Use the arrows to move promotions up or down the list, then click Save. Flair updates the priority numbers to match the new order.

You'll also find Manage layouts in the More actions menu.

Find and manage promotions faster

The Badges and Banners pages have a refreshed look, easier access to search and filters, and more ways to view and sort your promotions.

Refreshed promotion cards

Badges are now centered, and the details view has a cleaner layout with priority included. Click the bottom of a card to expand its details.

Better search and filters

Search and filters are easier to reach from the toolbar above the list. Search promotion text, or combine filters for status, tags, layouts, and schedules to find what you need.

Sort and view options

Use View options to sort by Create date, Update date, or Publish date as well as priority, in either direction. Choose Compact for card summaries or Expanded to show every card's details. Pagination also lets you browse your promotions 24 at a time.

Actions have a new home

Click a badge or banner preview to edit it. Duplicate and Delete have moved from the three-dot menu on each card to More actions in the editor.

Organize your promotions more easily by priority

Priority makes it easier to control which badges and banners show first, from individual offers to groups of related promotions.

Flexible promotion ordering

Set a priority from 1 to 9999 to control which promotions show first. Lower numbers mean higher priority: 1 shows first.

Put important offers first. When a layout has limited spots, the highest-priority qualifying promotions appear.
Prioritize groups. Use the same number for related promotions, such as 20 for clearance and 30 for seasonal offers.
Leave gaps. Using 10, 20, and 30 gives you room to add a promotion at 15 later.

Set priority in the Organization section of each badge or banner form, alongside Tags.

Moving from Sort to Priority

Previously, the Sort page gave each promotion an exact position in a list. As that list grew, managing individual positions became cumbersome. Priority gives you a more flexible way to organize promotions, with shared priorities for related offers and room to add new ones.

No changes needed. Your badges and banners keep their current order, with each sorted position becoming its priority number.

Going forward, you can choose the priority when creating or editing badges and banners so the most important ones show first.

Scheduling now uses your store time zone

Schedule badges and banners in your Shopify store time zone, wherever you or your team are working. No need to convert times: a sale scheduled to start at midnight starts at midnight in your store's time zone.

Flair now uses the same time zone as Shopify's built-in discounts, making it easy to give your badges, banners, and discounts matching start and end times.

A redesigned scheduler

Separate date and time fields. Pick a date from the calendar and a time from the list, or type either one. You can schedule to the minute, such as 9:05 AM.
Visible time zone labels. Each time field shows your store's time zone, for example Start time (EST).
Optional end date. Check Set end date to turn a promotion off automatically. It defaults to 11:59 PM on your start date. Adjust the date and time to match when your sale ends.

No changes needed to existing schedules

Existing promotions will still start and end at their originally scheduled dates and times. Flair now displays their schedules in your store's time zone instead of your browser's, so the displayed dates and times may change if those time zones differ.

Target promotions by vendor and product type

Flair now supports two new conditions: Vendor and Product Type. Both use Shopify's own product fields, so if your catalog is already organized, there's no extra tagging or setup.

Vendor

Targets the Vendor field on a Shopify product. Spotlight a featured brand, flag exclusive or third-party lines, or exclude specific vendors from a promotion. Include one vendor or several, or exclude specific brands from a promotion entirely.

Product Type

Targets the Product Type field on a Shopify product. Badge an entire category like Outerwear or Accessories without touching individual products, or use it to exclude a category from a promotion. Pick one type or a whole list; a product just needs to match one.

Flair Promotions Now Support Native Translations

Flair now supports multi-language translations for badges and banners, so your promotions can speak your customers' language.

If you sell internationally, localized promotions reduce friction and build trust. When shoppers see offers in their own language, they're more likely to engage. No third-party translation apps required.

Translate Badges

Add and manage translations directly inside the badge form. Click the globe icon next to any text field to add localized content.

Translate Banners

Banners support translations for both message text and button text, so your entire call-to-action is localized.

Getting Started

Enable your languages in Settings → Languages inside Flair. Translation fields will appear automatically in your badge and banner forms.

Your apps work exactly the same. Flair and Best Seller Insights continue to operate as they always have. No action is required on your part.

Your plan stays the same. Your current subscription, pricing, and features remain unchanged.

Why the change

Flair has become our flagship product, and most merchants already know us by that name. Unifying under Flair Commerce makes it clearer who we are and simplifies things going forward.

Badge link support, plus relative and JavaScript link types

We've just added link support for Flair badges and introduced two powerful new link types for both badges and banners.

Badge links

You can now make badges interactive with links:

Link to sale collections, external sites, or trigger advanced actions like starting a text or email — even run custom JavaScript. More on that below.

New link types

Two new options add more flexibility:

Relative links Just use paths starting with /, like /collections/best-sellers. No need to type your full store domain.

JavaScript links Run custom JavaScript on click — great for advanced integrations. Examples: javascript:dispatchEvent(new CustomEvent('flair-offer-click')) or javascript:customFunction()

Supported link types

Flair now supports all these link formats:

http:, https:, / – Link to any page in your shop or beyond, e.g., /collections/sale.
sms: – Open a pre-filled text message, e.g., sms:5551112222&body=Get 20% Off.
mailto: – Open a pre-filled email, e.g., mailto:deals@example.com?subject=Special Offer&body=Please send me the 20% OFF code.

Introducing Theme Triggers: Refresh your Flair promotions

We're excited to introduce Theme Triggers, a powerful new way to keep your Flair promotions up-to-date as customers interact with your store!

What are Theme Triggers?

Theme Triggers automatically refresh Flair promotions when cart or variant changes happen on your store.

This includes when a customer:

Selects a new product variant (size, color, etc.)
Adds items to their cart
Updates quantities or removes items from the cart

This ensures Flair variant promotions and cart promotions always show based on accurate, real-time data.

Note: Theme Triggers replace the previous Variant Refresh settings. If you were using Variant Refresh settings, your changes were automatically migrated to the new Theme Triggers.

Three easy ways to set up triggers

1. Presets

This is the easiest option. Choose your theme from our list of popular Shopify themes, and we'll automatically configure the right triggers for you. No technical knowledge needed.

For launch, we've included triggers for all variations of the free Shopify Dawn and Horizon themes. We'll continue to add to this list for more popular themes. Feel free to contact support if your theme is not listed or you need a hand.

2. Event triggers

Event triggers listen for JavaScript events on your store pages.

Event triggers support two target types:

Document - Listen for global events across your entire page (great for themes that publish global events like cart:update or variant:update)
Element - Listen for events on specific page elements (great for targeting particular buttons or form fields)

3. Content triggers

Content triggers watch specific parts of your page for changes, like your cart icon or product information. When that content updates, Flair promotions refresh automatically.

Requirements

Theme Triggers require the latest Flair version, Flair Gen 3.

For older versions of Flair, only a single event theme trigger is supported.

New Flair conditions: Cart Amount and Cart Quantity targeting

We've just launched new Flair conditions to help you target promotions based on what customers have in their shopping cart!

Cart condition details

We've added two new cart conditions:

Cart Amount - Target customers based on the total dollar value in their cart
Cart Quantity - Display promotions based on the number of items in their cart

You can use these conditions for both Flair badges and banners, and both conditions support:

Flexible operators - Choose from "is less than", "equals", or "is greater than"
Entire cart or specific products - Apply the condition to the entire cart or only to specific products
Multi-currency support - Cart amounts automatically convert to the customer's local currency (matching how Shopify Discounts work)

These new conditions make it easy to create cart-based incentives like free shipping thresholds, bulk purchase promotions, or upsell campaigns.

Pro tip: Cart conditions are evaluated in real-time as customers shop, so promotions update instantly when items are added or removed from the cart.

Use cases

Here are some ways to use these new conditions:

Free shipping threshold - Show a "Free Shipping on orders over $50" badge when customers are close to qualifying
Bulk discounts - Display "Buy 3 or more and save 20%" promotions on product pages
Cart value incentives - Encourage larger orders with "Add $25 more to unlock your discount" messages
Product-specific promotions - Show "Buy 2 get 1 free" only for specific products in the cart

Requirements

The Cart Amount and Cart Quantity conditions are available on current Grow plans. And you must be running on the latest Flair version, Flair Gen 3.

New Flair conditions: Country and Language targeting

We've just launched new Flair conditions to help you target promotions based on your customers' location and language preferences!

Reminder: These features require Flair Gen 3, the latest version of Flair. View the upgrade guide for step-by-step instructions.

New Country and Language conditions

You can now show promotions to customers based on their:

Country - Target customers in specific countries using Shopify's storefront-supported country list
Language - Display promotions in the customer's preferred language from Shopify's supported languages

Both conditions support:

Is - Include customers from selected countries/languages
Is not - Exclude customers from selected countries/languages
Multiple selections - Choose one or many countries/languages per condition

These new conditions work with Shopify Markets, making it easy to create region-specific promotions and communicate with customers in their preferred language.

Note: Country and Language conditions are available on Boost and Grow plans.

Price condition enhancements

The Price condition has received two helpful updates:

New exact match operator - Use = (equal to) to show promotions when prices match your specified amount exactly
Cents precision - Price conditions now support matching on dollars and cents (e.g., $19.99), not just whole dollar amounts
Works seamlessly with the existing <= and >= operators for greater flexibility

Pro tip: Price conditions automatically match against the configured Shopify Market pricing for each customer's market.

Flair banner conditions, dynamic text and variant updates

We've just launched some new Flair banner features that we're excited to share with you!

Flair banners now support the full suite of conditions and dynamic text as well as variant promotions. This means you can use Flair badges or banners interchangeably, depending on your needs.

Note: These updates require Flair Gen 3, the latest version of Flair. Visit the Flair Gen 3 upgrade guide for details on upgrading.

Flair banners now support the following new conditions:

Create date - promote new arrivals
Inventory - promote product availability including: in stock, out of stock, between
Price - show banners based on product price, such as for "Add on"
Product option - show banners based on available product options
Sale price - promote products based on compare at savings percentages

Flair banner dynamic text updates

Flair banners are now able to display the following additional dynamic text:

Inventory total - add some scarcity to banners, such as "ONLY 3 LEFT"
Price - Show the product price including the minimum and maximum price across all variants
Discounted price - Show a dynamically calculated discounted price, based on an amount or percent of the product price
Sale percent - Display the savings as a percentage, such as "20% OFF"
Sale amount - Display the savings as a dollar amount, such as "SAVE $10"

Flair banners can now be shown on a per variant basis. This means you can show different banners for different variants of the same product.

You can use variant banners for variant-specific promotions, including inventory totals, product options, sale prices, custom discounted prices and more.

How to upgrade to Flair Gen 3

For most customers, the upgrade should be seamless and as simple as clicking a few buttons.

Release Schedule

New Flair customers that signed up on or after September 18, 2024 are already using Flair Gen 3.

Existing Flair customers can request access to early access now by contacting support. We've designed the upgrade process to be as smooth as possible. For most customers, no changes should be needed to your Flair promotions or installation.

Flair Gen 3 will be generally available to all customers in January 2025.

Flair Gen 2 will be supported throughout 2025 to allow for plenty of time to upgrade to Gen 3. After this date, stores will not be able to edit their Flair promotions until they complete the upgrade.

Variant metafield conditions and dynamic text

Now you can customize your Flair promotions even more with Shopify variant metafields.

Flair supports two options for working with variant metafields:

Variant metafields are only available on the product page for the main product.

Variant metafield dynamic text

You can use Flair variant metafield dynamic text to display custom product badge promotions and information.

For example, you can use dynamic text to add custom shipping information based on a variant metafield value like so:

This will dynamically show the value of the variant metafield custom.shipping so you can communicate fast shipping and shipping delays to your customers like so:

Variant metafield conditions

You can also use variant metafields as conditions for your Flair badge and banner promotions.

Here's an example condition to show a Flair badge if the variant metafield custom.shipping exists:

You can also set conditions based on if a variant metafield value is equal to or not equal to a specific value (case-sensitive).

New badge preview, padding, and letter spacing options

First up, you’ll notice that the badge preview has been moved from its former sidebar location into the style section, making it easier to see changes as you make them:

We've also added several additional padding options so you can add the perfect amount of spacing inside your badge:

This includes a brand new letter spacing setting to adjust the spacing between letters in your badge text:

We've made it even easier to add a button or countdown timer with the click of a button:

Here's how this looks with both the button and countdown timer enabled:

This includes a new option to set the position of your button and countdown to show first, middle or last within your banner.

New banner preview, padding, letter spacing, text size, and corner options

As with our badge style updates, we moved the banner preview inside the style section, making it easier to see changes as you make them:

We've added more padding options to the banner, button, and countdown styles:

We've introduced a new setting so you can customize the letter spacing for banner content, button text, and countdown text:

And we've also added additional corner rounding options, which you can set in the banner, button, and countdown sections.

Lastly, we've added a new option so you can specify the text size for the button and countdown text, which is relative to the banner text size:

Now you can set any badge or banner color to transparent:

The transparent color acts as a see-through color, so any colors behind the badge or banner will show through.

You can apply transparency to any Flair badge or banner color — including backgrounds, text, and borders.

What's next?

Up next, we're adding support for saved badge and banner styles, including custom color palettes.

This will make it even easier for you to customize and launch new Flair promotions in your shop.

Sale price range badges, new customer and B2B company promotions

Let's celebrate the end of 2022 in style with some shiny new Flair updates.

We're pleased to announce the following new features are available for you to use in your Flair promotions today:

Sale price range badges

The Flair badge Sale Price condition received a new savings type option that lets you promote products differently depending on whether the savings amount varies.

For products with multiple savings amounts, such as color blue is 10% off and color red is 25% off, you can show a range such as Save 10 to 20%:

And for products with a single savings amount, you can show the exact savings such as Save 10%:

The savings type option works great with both Sale Amount dynamic text (e.g., "SAVE $5") and Sale Percent dynamic text (e.g., "Save %10").

New Customer promotions

Now you can show promotions to specific types of customers based on the new Flair Customer Type condition.

You can use the Customer Type condition to display targeted badges and banners based on if a customer is:

not logged in - the customer is not logged in
a consumer - the customer is a consumer (does not belong to a B2B company)
a business - the customer is a business (belongs to a B2B company)

In addition, you can display a personalized message using the customer's first name, such as Welcome Milton, with the new Customer First Name dynamic text.

With this new addition, you can now display customer-specific promotions based on:

New B2B Company promotions

Flair now includes support for the new Shopify B2B wholesale suite.

You can display targeted badge and banner promotions to your B2B wholesale customers based on the new Flair Company Name condition.

In addition, you can display a personalized message using the B2B company name, such as Welcome Initech, with the new Company Name dynamic text.
